Our Technical Training Mindset :
Our first and foremost goal for our students is to create competent, safe, and knowledgeable divers who are truly capable of independently diving with a similarly-certified buddy, without the supervision or help of a guide.
What is Included in the Course :
Diving Sports includes the price of tuition, air fills, and certification fees. Students are responsible for their own personal equipment and enriched gas fills for the course. Manuals, eLearning, or both will be added on afterwards depending on student preference.
Equipment Requirements :
Students are required to be proficient diving with 2 Primary cylinders, either doubles backmount or sidemount, before the start of the course. Students will be required to have appropriate cylinders for a decompression mix with oxygen cleaned regulators. These may be rented out for the course.
Who is this course for:
The Extended Range Diver Course provides the training and experience necessary including proper techniques, equipment requirements, and hazards of deep air diving, to competently utilize air for dives up to 50 metres/165 feet that require staged decompression, using Nitrox and or mixtures of oxygen during decompression. Two cylinders for decompression will be used during the course. **Since "deepair" is not always considered advisable because of narcosis, we will only be achieving a maximum depth of 50m during the course.**
This course is the stepping stone for those wishing to start diving with Trimix and planning dives deeper than 200ft/60m.
What You Will Learn:
A large focus will be on in-water, timed, equipment failures and problem solving. Divers will be exposed to a number of different gas mixtures, both as bottom gas and in Deco cylinders during decompression. Divers will learn to complete a range of skills, and will have to demonstrate competence and comfort in water.
Course Description:
We will spend 2 days in class. You have the option to do eLearning or purchase the manual only (this will affect the amount of class required) so you may choose the option that is best for you.
After finishing the class portion of the course we will be spending 2 days in the ocean, with 4 dives minimum to complete the training. You will be building on what you learned during your first TDI course to extend your diving to the practical limit of air.
If more dives are required to meet the instructors standards we will plan more days in the ocean as needed. Additional training costs are $400 per day plus gas fills.

Our instructors are open and honest about your progress during each part of the course. Students may need to schedule additional pool or ocean training dives prior to certification. This ensures our students complete their courses with all the skills and knowledge they need to be safe and enjoy their future dives and courses. When you take a course with Diving Sports, you are welcomed into a passionate and inclusive community of divers eager to support your diving journey well beyond the duration of your class.
