Why Howe Sound?:
Howe Sound is home to most of our local dive sites both shore and boat access. Unfortunately due to water access there aren't very many shore dive sites for groups of divers to go explore. That's why we try to arrange charters with other local companies to take groups of both Freedivers and Scuba Divers to explore more of what our waters have to offer!
Scuba Divers :
Scuba divers must hold an advanced certification, a minimum of 15 cold water dives, and proof of diving within the last 12 months. Divers wishing to rent a drysuit must have a recognized Drysuit Specialty Certification. Reserve your rental equipment HERETechnical Scuba Diver :
Should have advanced nitrox/ decompression procedures or PADI Tec 45 certification, and a minimum of 10 technical cold water dives in the last 6 months. Divers wishing to sign up for a technical dive are encouraged to bring a dive buddy as one may not be guaranteed.Freedivers:
Freedivers must have a freediving certification to the depth of 20 meters for safety, and a minimum of 15 cold water dives, with one being in the last 6 months. Reserve your rental equipment HEREBoat Charters with PNW Expeditions:
We will be meeting at 8:30am at dock in Horseshoe Bay. We will spend sometime to set up equipment and get organized on the boat before departing. Dives will be about 45min - 1hr at each dive site we choose. There is always an hour surface interval between dives so divers will want to bring lots of food and water to eat and drink, although usually hot soup is provided. We have lots of options for all experience levels of divers so there will always be something for everyone to enjoy. After the 2 dives we are usually back at the shop between 3pm and 4pm.
Commitment to Safety and Enjoyment
At Diving Sports we believe in making sure all our divers (Scuba and Freedivers) receive the best possible experience while maintaining a high standard for safety, both for the divers, the guide, and the environment we are visiting. Our dive guides have many years of experience diving locally in cold water. All Dive guides are trained in first aid and oxygen delivery. First Aid kits and DAN Oxygen Kits are present on all trips and courses. Dive sites or dive plans may be changed due to weather conditions or experience level of the group, as well as anyone not adhering to proper dive practices will politely be asked to adapt to better interact with the underwater environment.
