SDI Buoyancy Control Specialty Course | Vancouver
The SDI Buoyancy Control Specialty Course at Diving Sports Canada is designed to help divers fine-tune and master one of the most essential and challenging scuba skills — buoyancy. Whether you’re a newly certified diver or have years of experience, improving buoyancy control will make your dives more comfortable, efficient, and environmentally friendly.
This course enhances your understanding of the factors that influence buoyancy and trains you to use proper weighting, body positioning, and breathing techniques for precision control underwater.

Our Training Approach
At Diving Sports, we believe in making sure all our students receive the highest quality instruction and customer service. We are in the business of training, mentoring, and supporting people to become safe, skillful, and confident divers—and in doing so, we know we are certifying divers who can enjoy the sport incident-free for many years.
We find that the common course structure of shortening class times to lower cost doesn’t benefit our students or our staff. We are changing how we do things to give students the time to excel in all the areas of diving so they can be proud of achieving their certification. This may mean training takes longer and costs slightly more than some other dive companies—but it ensures true mastery.
Our instructional staff have decades of experience, and when you train with us, you benefit from all that expertise. We schedule courses with enough time for most students to master their skills—not just the minimum hours required by the agency. Our instructors are open and honest about your progress and will recommend additional pool or ocean dives if needed, ensuring every diver is confident and safe before certification.
When you take a course with Diving Sports, you are welcomed into a passionate, inclusive community of divers eager to support your journey well beyond the class. We also offer private instruction for those who need more one-on-one time with their instructor.
