Our Technical Training Mindset :
Our first and foremost goal for our students is to create competent, safe, and knowledgeable divers who are truly capable of independently diving with a similarly-certified buddy, without the supervision or help of a guide.
What is Included in the Course :
Diving Sports includes the price of tuition, the scheduled class dates and 2 days of diving (2 dives each day), and certification fees. Students are responsible for their own equipment and enriched gas fills and helium for the course. Manuals, eLearning, or both will be added on afterwards depending on student preference.
Equipment Requirements :
Students are required to be proficient diving with 2 Primary cylinders, either backmounted doubles or sidemount, before the start of the course. Students will be required to have appropriate cylinders for a decompression mix with an oxygen cleaned regulators.
Trimix + Advanced Trimix:
Divers may combine the TDI Trimix Diver training with the TDI Advanced Trimix Diver training. The combination requires a minimum of 8 dives at a cost of $2199.99. Please reach out to us to arrange this option.
Who is this course for:
The TDI Trimix Diver course is designed for divers who have completed their initial technical diving training and want to explore further. The limiting factor for deeper and more complicated dives if often gas narcosis and oxygen partial pressure limits. The Trimix Diver training adds helium to your bottom gas mixture to effectively reduce the gas narcosis at depth as well as lowering the oxygen content to a minimum of 18%.
What You Will Learn:
You will spend the majority of the training focusing on dive planning with different gas mixtures with the introduction of helium as "norm-oxic" trimix. You will learn about isobaric counter diffusion and how it effects your dive planning. You will spend a significant amount of time on problem solving and system failures and how to properly execute back-up plans from deeper decompression dives.
Course Description:
We will spend 2 days in class. You have the option to do eLearning or purchase the manual only (this will affect the total material cost) so you may choose the option that is best for you. After finishing the class portion of the course we will be spending 2 days in the ocean, with 4 dives minimum. This is where you will build on the knowledge you learned during the first half of the course and develop your physical skill set as you work with your instructors and gain confidence as you become a trimix diver. If more dives are required to meet the instructors standards we will plan more days in the ocean as needed. Additional training costs are $400 per day plus gas fills.
